- 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/3 cup granulated white sugar
- 90 g butter
- 1 egg
- 4 apples (Granny Smith or similar)
- 1/3 cup rolled oats
- 1/3 cup soft brown sugar
- 1/3 cup walnuts
Process all ingredients for the base briefly in a food processor, then spoon into a greased round pie dish and flatten with a fork.
Cut apples in half and remove cores, cut into eighths then process (including skin) until roughly chopped. (If you don't have a food processor you can grate them instead.) Spread over the base.
Process the topping briefly then sprinkle over the apple.
Bake for 20–30 mins at 180°C or microwave for 8–10 mins on high.
Serve hot with cream, custard or icecream.
